The brief

Showcase the Softer Sounds grounded-but-flexible, creative-but-slow passion and work ethic — and make it clear that they are creating something different from the traditional production and network options out there.

The result

The experimental new network meets the grounded focus of the committed creative working in the studio to build a safe, supportive, and refreshing container where hard workers can let loose. The tactile creative ritual of drafting a zine on a typewriter... made into sound.

A cool, calm, and collected color palette holds the range to go understated or get loud. General Sans dials the boldness up or down as needed and Promenade adds an elegant contrast, while Libertinus Mono lends a playful, analog-meets-digital edge.

Wave forms pieced together in words as if drawing with a typewriter. Precise geometric curves meet toothy and rippling paper textures to carry the studio’s DIY roots into the future.

The abstract nature of working in audio is captured by the vibrating waves nestled in the icon that replaces the “O” in the logo, creating an optical illusion within the spacious wordmark and reflecting the more selective and experimental mindset of the new Softer Sounds.

Brand Elements

Testimonial

“Working with Sharon gave my business the glow-up it needed to take things to the next level.

I started my studio with a DIY-brand that worked just fine, but as my offerings, clientele and revenue grew, I needed my visual impression to evolve as well. I wanted my website to shine as much as my work did!

Sharon immediately & intuitively understood my vision, my values, and what my brand needed to make a great first, second, and fiftieth impression.

Now my ideal clients immediately know they're in the right place when they land on my site, and there are plenty of visual details and accents that keep them surprised and delighted every time they return.

Plus I've been able to implement our brand work even beyond my digital presence. Now I've got business cards, stickers, and other merch forthcoming that helps spread the word about my work on and offline.”
