Energetic visionary witchcraft

That’s right - this is where I go FULL WOO. If it doesn’t resonate with you, that’s completely ok.

For the rest of you witches: lately I have been distilling my practice down to its ✨ simplest possible ✨ form.

There is nothing more effective for me than daily-ish morning pages, nightly-ish altar offerings, a weekly-ish cleanse and reset of my home and my intentions.

If that sounds routine and basic, it’s on purpose - it keeps my 6th house moon very happy.

The more mundane, the better - like intentionally choosing a phone background.

I can write elaborate, poetic spells. I can draw esoteric and elegant sigils. But none of it WORKS unless I feel it in my body — and holding specific words and details in my brain just disconnects me.

I recently heard Gabriela Herstik speaking on Modern Witch about defining her personal practice in a way that is completely unique, instead of putting yourself in existing occult categories. It got me thinking about how I could define my own practice in a way that feels liberating.

So, I’m playing with energetic visionary witchcraft.

Energetic refers to both the physical and psychic experience of energy, which I only recently identified as the most critical piece of my magic. If there isn’t a physical sensory experience - if I don’t FEEL it in my body - it doesn’t work.

Visionary refers to visualization as the primary way I interact with and attune that energy - whether that means full-blown trance journeying, or more likely these days, just checking in on and adjusting the color of my aura.

Witchcraft refers to work with spirit allies. As an animist, this can mean plants, land, ovens. It can mean working with inner aspects of self, ancestors by blood or by creative lineage. It means necromancy, and it also means Pinterest.

All of this plays into how I work with clients. At the root, I visualize a business’s energetic signature and bring forth its expression in the physical world.

I make the invisible visible, and Swail Studio is where I am able to offer that work to others.
